ISA School leaver employment supports can help you to move from school to work and you can access them in the final years of school and directly after leaving school.

ISA school leaver employment supports are designed to help you prepare, look for and gain employment. We can help you with a range of individualised activities to help you build your skills so that you can achieve your employment goals.

Some of the other ways that we can support you to find employment pathways include:

  • Working with you to understand what employment you want and planning ways to get there.
  • Using our community connections and partnerships to help you source employment opportunities.

How school leaver employment supports work

School leaver employment supports funding is designed to help you build your ability and confidence around entering the workforce.

You can access school leaver employment supports for up to two years, depending on your circumstances.

Your school leavers employment supports will be tailored to your interests and needs and could include things like:

  • Money handling skills
  • Time management skills
  • Communication skills
  • Discovery activities
  • Work experience
  • Job ready skills
  • Travel skills
  • Personal development skills

What you can expect from ISA School Leaver Supports

ISA will work you to help you to you get ready for work. We will work with you to plan employment pathways and develop tailored activities to meet your needs. Our supports can be delivered individually, in a group, or a combination of both.

Supports that we can offer typically include:

  • Work experience in an inclusive employment environment
  • Employability and/or vocational specific skills
  • Other foundation skills that enable engagement in work (for example travel training or money handling).

ISA will work closely with you and your network to support you with your transition from a structured school environment, tailoring your planning and services to your pace and your preferences.

We will work with you to develop an activities schedule, and your supports will be reflected in your service agreement. This will help us track your progress in reaching your employment goals.
